Chef D and I spent the day preparing for the arrival of 6 adults and 2 children to join our 3 adults and 2 children for our turn at hosting church supper club for this quarter. It was a fun time had by all, as far as I can tell!
Our menu included:
Smoked Beef Brisket
Smoked Beef Ribs
Smoked Sausage
Broccoli Salad with Dried Cranberries
Mashed Potatoes with sour cream and butter
Rolls
Chocolate Turtle Cheesecake (provided by one of our guests)
do you freak out at the question "what's for dinner?"
I began this blog to help me to become less stressed about meal planning and preparing. I thought it might detangle the mess in my mind that caused so much torment at just the thought of "what's for dinner?"
This self-imposed stress was the result of my response to two facts: (1) my dear husband, Chef D, with his highly discriminating and refined palate, is much more adept in the kitchen than I am; and (2) my children are all extremely picky eaters.
After posting my menu plans on Mondays, I try to provide a review of the recipes. So, I invite you to join me as I work to no longer be...an apprehensive aliment artisan.
